With a massive fan base in Asia and a music career spanning 34 years, Huang rose to fame when he and his sibling secured second place at the inaugural Youth Star Interschool Music Competition. This victory earned them a recording contract, leading to the release of Huang's debut album, "The Supporting Actor’s Words" in 1990. The album featured the smash hit song "How Can You Let Me Be Sad," which has been covered by renowned artists such as the "Heavenly King" Andy Lau, Taiwanese singer Peng Jiahui, and Power Station.
Beyond music, Huang is a multifaceted artist, excelling as an actor, composer, and show host. He won the Award for Best Original Song at the 39th Golden Horse Awards for his work on the film "Love at 7-Eleven," in which he also starred alongside actress Ke Huan-Ru. In 2012, his performance in the TV drama "Rainy Night Flowers" earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the 47th Golden Bell Awards.
Huang has showcased his talents on international stages, performing alongside other Mandopop icons at Resorts World Las Vegas. In 2018, he collaborated with balladeer Winnie Hsin for a memorable performance at Resorts World Genting.
