The opening ceremony was graced by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture Malaysia, YB Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, RWG President and Chief Operating Officer, Lee Thiam Kit , Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Public Relations, Spencer Lee, Executive Vice President of Leisure, Hospitality and Lifestyle, Peter Foster.
Five MoUs Worth RM 12 Million
Resorts World Genting signed five MoUs: one with Nestlé Malaysia to supply plant-based products for MICE events and F&B outlets; another with Fraser & Neave to use recyclable Tetra Pak-ed mineral water, reducing plastic usage and third with PNH Malaysia to upcycle food waste into items like toothbrushes and cutleries for the resort.
The second day the expo began with the signing of an MoU with Farm Fresh, focusing on a joint marketing campaign to promote nutrition and healthy living at Resorts World Genting. Additionally, an agreement with Aqina Trading was established to support B40 farmers by purchasing organically farmed pineapples from Aqina’s Projek Pekoti Timur. These MoUs were witnessed by YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities.
Resorts World Genting’s Superchef Squad Honoured
At the event, seven chefs from Resorts World Genting’s Superchef Squad were awarded badges for their significant contributions to the F&B industry. The honours were presented by RWG President & COO, Lee Thiam Kit, with Jennifer Ong, CEO of HAPA Group, and Peter Dewey Foster, RWG Executive Vice President for Leisure, Hospitality & Lifestyle, as witnesses. Additionally, Nestle Malaysia and Resorts World Genting’s Superchef Squad conducted various plant-based and sustainable cooking demonstrations and delectable food tasting sessions.
Live Cooking Demo
Nestlé Malaysia, in collaboration with Resorts World Genting’s Superchef Squad, hosted a series of live cooking demonstrations and food tastings, featuring a diverse range of plant-based and sustainable dishes. The menu included delectable options like Plant-Based Nugget Rendang, Crispy Fish-Free Fingers with Mac & Cheese, and Chicken Katsu Curry, featuring local, Western, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine, among others.
Panel Discussions on Sustainable Food Trends and Challenges
Visitors gained valuable insights from presentations and participated in panel discussions moderated by Freda Liu. Topics ranged from innovative food production to strategies for integrating sustainability across various sectors. Experts shared experiences and explored the future of sustainable practices, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation in overcoming challenges.

Official Launch of the Start-Up Village
The official launch of the Start-Up Village took place on the third day of the event (12.09.2024). This session is vital for welcoming start-ups and SMEs to join the Genting Sustainbiz F&B Expo, highlighting their sustainability efforts. The goal is to inspire more SMEs to embark on a sustainable journey, fostering both a healthier planet and a sustainable income.

YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin made a notable visit to the Genting Sustainbiz F&B Expo, where he engaged with various exhibitors. Each exhibitor showcased their sustainability efforts, detailing how they operate their businesses sustainably. Representing diverse industries such as food and beverage, plantation, and machinery, the exhibitors provided valuable insights into their innovative practices and commitment to sustainability.

The expo showcased innovative concepts in sustainable food production, packaging, food waste management, regenerative agriculture, and eco-friendly equipment. Featured brands included Nestle, Cremer Sustainable Foods, Kimberly-Clark, Gelatomio, World New Energy, Temasek Polytechnic Singapore, Sunway University, Taylor’s University, and Farm Fresh.
