Following halal principles doesn’t only hold religious significance for Muslims, halal food is prepared according to specific requirements such as the use of clean utensils and the proper handling of meat. 

Recently, Muslims nationwide were also stunned to discover that 5 popular Muslim-friendly restaurant chains in the country didn’t actually have Halal certs. 

Therefore, Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM) is extremely proud to announce that we were crowned amongst the top 10 of the ‘Halal Champions, State of Pahang’ award. This was part of the ‘Halal on Track’ program as part of the Inisiatif Segera Pensijilan Halal Malaysia (ISPHM 2.0) and given by Jabatan Agama Islam Pahang (JAIP), from the state of Pahang.

‘Halal on Track’ is provided as a platform that can give exposure to entrepreneurs in Malaysia who have a halal certification. It was developed as a medium to prepare entrepreneurs for Malaysian halal certification by combining various service offerings by stakeholders under one roof. This initial step is expected to help speed up Malaysia's halal certification management process.

The award was received based on criteria fulfilled by two of our F&B establishments at Resorts World Genting, Jom Makan SkyAvenue and Jom Makan Street Food.  The presentation of the certificate was presented by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Bin Hamidi.
