Tsai Chin is a pop and folk singer from Taiwan. Tsai Chin is well-known for her captivating, rich voice and sings in both Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese Hokkien. She is also referred to as ‘’Patti Page of Taiwan’’ as a result of this. In 1979, she participated in the folk style singing competition held by Haishan Record and won the fourth place. She became famous for the song ‘’Just Like Your Tenderness’’ in the third episode of the folk style. Later, she recorded several campus folk song albums, ‘’Choice’’ and ‘’Outside Song’’. ‘’ Your eyes’’ and other songs are the representative works of this period. Because of the low and gentle voice and the melodious singing, they have the reputation of ‘’The Queen of Velvet Songs’’. Since 1998, Tsai Chin has cooperated with Gotuo Theater and entered the field of musicals and performed ‘’ The City That Never Sleeps With Angels’’, which has also toured in mainland China. In 2003, She first adapted the song and dance drama, ‘’ Love in Shanghai Night’’ from ‘’La Traviata’’, in which she sang old Mandarin songs. In 2005, she played another musical ‘’Running Angel’’ adapted from the movie ‘’ Nuns Are Crazy’’.
