We’re proud to say that the hotel has been awarded the coveted 5-star rating by the guide for a whopping eighth year in a row *blows trumpet*. In fact, we’ve been receiving this recognition from 2019 to 2026.

What is the Forbes Travel Guide?

Alright, you might think, “What’s so great about a 5-star rating as quite a few hotels in Malaysia have this (over 100 in fact)?” It’s a bit confusing, but the Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Awards differ significantly from the hotel classifications issued by Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia. While both use a five-star scale, they measure different things. MOTAC’s rating is an official government classification that focuses largely on tangible criteria such as room size, facilities, and more — essentially confirming that a hotel meets the requirements of a luxury category.

In contrast, Forbes Travel Guide’s Five-Star designation is a far more selective international accolade based on detailed, anonymous inspections that prioritise service quality, personalisation, and overall guest experience. To cut a long story short, it’s way harder to get a Five-Star rating from FTG. In fact, we are the ONLY hotel in Malaysia to receive this prestigious accolade this year.
