Planning a family holiday that keeps everyone happy isn't always easy. Grandma wants to relax, the little ones want to have fun, the teenagers want to take some shots for the ‘Gram, and the parents? They're just hoping for a vacation that doesn't feel like work (and keeps everyone happy).

Fortunately, Resorts World Genting is one of the few destinations where every generation can enjoy themselves, all in one place. Perched 6,000 feet above sea level, its cool mountain climate, wide variety of attractions, family-friendly hotels and diverse dining options make it the perfect getaway for multi-generational families.

Here's how everyone, from grandparents to grandkids, can have the time of their lives.

Where To Stay

We have rooms to fit big families from four to six pax at our seven hotels. Here are some of our picks:

  • Genting SkyWorlds Hotel: we have Quads (for 2 adults and 2 children) and Sixers (for four adults and two children), so that everyone doesn’t have to be separated, and so you don’t have to spend so much on your accommodation.
  • First World Hotel: for families travelling on a budget, situated at the heart of the resort.
  • Resorts World Awana: a tranquil stay surrounded by our 130-million-year old rainforest. Get the Superior Deluxe Sixer for six or the Mansion or our Villa, ideal for four.
Grandparents

Here’s what will keep the family elders happy:

Awana SkyWay: The cable car ride is scenic, relaxing and requires minimal walking, offering spectacular views of the rainforest.

Chin Swee Caves Temple: The cable car also offers a free stop at the temple. It’s a peaceful spot for sightseeing, photography and quiet reflection, with a 15-metre-tall statue of Buddha and views of the mountain.

Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park: One of our newest attractions is Malaysia’s largest floral glasshouse. Spanning 12.5 acres, it features massive climate-controlled glasshouses, 30,000 blooms, giant indoor waterfalls, and monumental art pieces.

Parents

SkyAvenue: Enjoy leisurely shopping, cafés and plenty of places to sit (we all need to sit often after we turn 30) while watching the bustling atmosphere.

MSpa at Genting Grand: Here, state-of-the-art technology meets traditional, plant-based body treatments to give you a bespoke holistic experience. While the kids are napping, parents can book a couple’s treatment for some alone time.

Younger Children

Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park: There are over 20 rides, including those catered to younger children. Let them bump around on the Boo Boo Bump miniature bumper car ride, go on the Ride ‘Em Round, a classic merry-go-round, or spin around in our Tea Cups.

Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park: Let your whole family journey into a new realm with nine movie- and adventure inspired “worlds”: Eagle Mountain, Central Park, Liberty Lane, Robots Rivet Town, Andromeda Base, Ice Age, Studio Plaza, Epic and Rio.

Many attractions are designed specifically for younger kids, such as the Blue Sky Carousel (Rio) and Epic Hummingbird Flyers (Epic). Plus, enjoy special tickets from RM38 from 17 August 2026 onwards for seniors, children, and guests with disabilities. Read about our must-try theme park rides for children and toddlers here

P.S. We also have adorable merch that the kids (and adults) will love.

Teenagers

There’s also loads to keep your teen happy (even if they may seem grumpy):

VSM (Vision City Video Games Park, Sky Arcade Video Games Park, Galaxy Arcade): Let them blow off steam with countless arcade games, VR experiences, and competitive challenges.

Arena of Stars: If your stay coincides with one of our concerts featuring international and regional artistes, they can go and scream their lungs out (in excitement) and enjoy the music.

Genting Highlands Premium Outlets: Teens may only have their allowances to shop, and they can take advantage of our huge discounts of up to 65% at stores such as Nike and Adidas.

Cafés: We have loads of Instagram-worthy desserts and drinks. We recommend Luckin Coffee, the brand’s first flagship store in a space inspired by theme parks, with a curated brew and exclusive creations you can only find at Resorts World Genting.

Food For Every Generation

Of course, many of the attractions and activities can also be enjoyed together. One of the best things to do together is, of course, to eat.

From picky toddlers to adventurous grandparents, Resorts World Genting also has plenty of dining options to suit different tastes. Families can gather over everything from familiar favourites and casual bites to international cuisines and more sophisticated dining experiences.

We recommend: Burger & Lobster, FUHU Vibe Dining Restaurant, and Ayu Awana.

Tips for a Stress-Free Family Holiday

We also have some tips for you:

  • Book connecting/adjoining rooms or larger family rooms where possible.
  • Plan one or two activities per day rather than trying to do everything.
  • Build in downtime for grandparents and young children.
  • Let different generations split up for a few hours before meeting for meals.
  • Check accessibility and height/age requirements for rides before visiting.

Enjoy your family holiday!
