28.04.2026 (Tuesday)
6pm
Arena of Stars

Cai Xiao Hu is a veteran Taiwanese singer who is renowned for his soulful, resonant voice. He first gained widespread recognition in May 1991 after standing out in Taiwan’s acclaimed singing competition Five Lamp Awards. In November of the same year, he released his debut Hokkien single “Don’t Mention the Past,” which was included in his first solo album of the same title. The song became an instant hit, earning him the Best New Artist Award at the 4th Golden Melody Awards and firmly establishing his presence in the Taiwanese music industry.

In 1992, Cai Xiao Hu released his second album, The One My Heart Loves, which earned him a nomination for Best Male Dialect Singer at the 5th Golden Melody Awards, further solidifying his reputation as a powerful and emotionally compelling vocalist. Between 1993 and 1995, he released a series of successful albums, including Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Love You to the Bone, and Lover Drunk Away, all of which were well received by audiences.

In 1996, Cai Xiao Hu continued his musical momentum with releases such as Heartache of Infatuation, Lover Drunk Away, and Loving You Is Not a Crime. Among these, Lover Drunk Away and Loving You Is Not a Crime both earned him nominations for the Golden Melody Award for Best Male Taiwanese Singer, highlighting his consistent vocal excellence and emotional depth.

Throughout his career, Cai Xiao Hu has received multiple nominations at the Golden Melody Awards, particularly in the categories of Best Male Dialect Singer and Best Male Taiwanese Singer. His music frequently explores themes of love, life, and emotional storytelling, characterised by a sincere, unembellished style and profound emotional resonance. His songs have long appealed to middle-aged listeners and dedicated fans of Taiwanese music. With decades of steady artistic output and enduring vocal strength, Cai Xiao Hu remains one of the most representative and era-defining powerhouse singers in Taiwan’s Taiwanese-language music scene.
