Fake Video Alert

It has come to our attention that a deepfake video of a purported Astro Awani interview of Genting Malaysia Berhad’s Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive is being unlawfully and improperly used to promote or otherwise be associated with an online gaming platform or site. This video also falsely claims that an official Genting online gambling application is available for download from the Apple App and Google Play stores.

We wish to stress that neither Genting Malaysia Berhad’s Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive nor Genting Malaysia Berhad is involved or associated in any way or manner to any online gaming platforms or sites in Malaysia. We advise the public not to be deceived by the deepfake video and its contents, and not to download any online gambling application which is purportedly associated with Genting Malaysia Berhad’s Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive or the Company.

Please do not circulate the deepfake video or disseminate any form of materials that relate to it. We will not accept any responsibility but will reserve our rights to pursue any action we deem fit.
