Trattoria Il Lago, offers visitors to Genting an inviting respite from the bustle of the Sky Worlds theme park, while allowing them front row seats to the activities taking place. Situated on prime thoroughfare which overlooks the interactive fountain, diners are often treated to the festive sight of street performers, as well as the light and music spectacular of the fountain show.
With a dining capacity of 102 pax, the trattoria is warm, casual, intimate and welcoming, offering a fully ala carte menu which includes a variety of pastas, antipasti, salads and desserts prepared in as authentic a style as possible.
All meals start with an
Assortment of freshly baked Italian bread with melted cheese and marinara sauce. Genting Garden Salad fresh served with mesclun leaves, age balsamic & extra virgin olive oil.
Or classic Caesar Salad with romaine lettuce, spicy bread croutons, onsen tamago egg, sprinkle with anchovies, parmesan cheese, bonito flakes and miso Caesar dressing.
The Fritto Misto, a combination of deep-fried squid, prawns, and cod fillet with bonito batter, grated parmesan cheese, seaweed, lemon and spicy dip leads the antipasti selection, along with
Calamari alla griglia (grilled squid, garlic, red chilli, Sichuan pepper, grated parmesan cheese and spicy dip),
and grilled Italian sausage with spicy tomato sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
For chilly days, either the wild mushroom cream soup with parmesan croutons, or minestrone alla Il Lago provide mix vegetable in a warm tomato broth soup.
Pizzas are a go-to for quick, satisfying meals. Il Lago offers margherita (tomato sauce, mozzarella and fontina cheese, fresh tomatoes, fresh basil and oregano), pepperoni (beef pepperoni with mozzarella and fontina cheese, fresh tomato, basil & oregano), and karaage (crispy chicken karaage, cherry tomatoes, tomato sauce, arugula and cream cheese sauce) options.
The pasta selection includes crab carbonara with crab meat, cream sauce, tobiko and parmesan cheese; seafood aglio alio with dried chillies, fresh basil, squid, mussels and prawns; palla di carne Italiana (home-made Italian lamb balls, garlic, plum tomato sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheese), and the fusion gyoza crema al gorgonzola which features pan-fried Japanese chicken dumplings, tobiko and gorgonzola cream sauce. Diners can also opt to create their own pastas with their choice of spaghetti, fettucine, capellini or rigatoni with a choice of carbonara, pomodoro (classic tomato sauce, fresh basil and parmesan cheese) or aglio olio.
Other comfort food includes risotto with squid ink, garlic, shrimp and parmesan cheese; lasagne Bolognese, and baked macaroni with baby spinach, smoked chicken, cream sauce, parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
Heartier appetites will enjoy the costolette d’agnello (grilled marinated lamb chops, vegetables, potatoes and rosemary jus), pan-seared seabass fillet, mixed mushrooms, ponzu and caper sauce; mixed seafood with vegetables in seafood gravy with toasted sourdough bread, or
galletto al mattone (grilled marinated chicken, mixed vegetables, creamy polenta and thyme sauce, or
filetto di manzo ai funghi porcini (grilled Australian beef tenderloin, spinach, mashed potatoes and porcini mushroom sauce).
To round off the meal, choose from the freshly baked chocolate fondant with strawberry topping and vanilla ice cream; an East meets West matcha tiramisu featuring savoiardi biscuits in Japanese green tea syrup with mascarpone cream cheese, or homemade gelato in vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel, or strawberry flavour.
IL Lago is part of the Gohtong Way streets activation from 6pm to 11pm daily, except Tuesday.
