Hola, Marta!

Authentic Spanish cuisine arrives at SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

In its quest to present authentic culinary experiences to its visitors, Resorts World Genting has teamed up with Spanish food purveyor extraordinaire, Marta Alonso Garcia (Marta), originator of the much-lauded Marta’s Kitchen, to launch La Fiesta by Marta’s Kitchen in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

The restaurant, serving made-from-scratch, authentic, home-style Spanish cuisine, is Marta’s first large-scale collaboration. The very first of her restaurants, Marta’s Kitchen, continues to operate in Desa Sri Hartamas, along with another outlet in Lalaport City Center.

Guests at La Fiesta by Marta’s Kitchen, which was opened on 1 March 2023, can expect a roll-out of gastronomic treats, with produce specially sourced from Spain, as well as garnered from the produce gardens and farms of Genting Highlands. Much of the menu will draw from Marta’s childhood foods, and will be a throwback to her girlhood in hilly Salamanca in western Spain, where the self-taught chef observed her mother’s cooking techniques, participating from an early age in jam and tomato preserve-making.

Marta will bring those traditional techniques to La Fiesta, together with menu items such as tortilla de patatas (Spanish omelette), coquetas de jamon (ham and bechamel balls), gambas al ajillo (garlicky prawns in chilli oil), patatas bravas (potatoes in aioli and spiced sauce), as well as Spain’s best known dish, paella. La Fiesta by Marta’s Kitchen will serve four variants of this flavourful dish, including Valenciana (chicken and seafood cooked in a seafood broth), squid ink, Iberico pork, and vegetarian paella.

With the benefit of Resorts World Genting’s strong culinary team, La Fiesta is set to become a place to dine at for authentic Spanish cuisine. The menu will offer not only the signature dishes available at Marta’s Kitchen, but also the best representations of food from all over Spain, for a fully immersive dining experience. This will include a selection of Spanish preserved and cured meats, including Iberico pork meat, such as the delicious, juicy Iberico pork ribs, jamon Serrano, and chorizo, as well as all the ingredients of the best-stocked Spanish kitchens, such as Bomba rice, the most flavourful olive oils, sun-ripened tomatoes, saffron, pimenton, and unique varieties of Spanish garlic and onion.

The Tostas selection will offer roasted capsicum with pesto, tomato, basil and Manchego cheese, as well as anchovies and roasted peppers. Artisanal platters include Serrano ham with bread and tomato, Iberico cold cuts and Manchego cheese, and Iberico loin with bread and tomato.

For shared eating, the Big Plates selection offers half or full rack of Iberico pork ribs, 250 or 500 grams of beef tenderloin cubes, and a Tabla Mixta for four to six persons, busting with selections of Iberico pork, lamb chops, beef sirloin, calamari, tiger prawns, Iberico ham, salad and fries.

The gastronomic might of Resorts World Genting, coupled with the artisanal touch of a woman who only learned to professionally cook at the age of 40 is a recipe destined for success, and the pleasure of many palates.

Complementing the menu of La Fiesta by Marta’s Kitchen will be the best pomelo gin and tonic in town, authentic sangria, Marta’s home-made summer wine, as well as delectable desserts including churros with chocolate and burnt Basque cheesecake.
