Taiwanese songstress Ye Ai Ling made her debut in 1985. In 1986, she won the Best New Artist award at the 8th Golden Voice Awards. Her song "Love Me, Don't Leave" was nominated for the Outstanding Artist Award at the 1987 Golden Voice Awards, propelling Ye Ai Ling to stardom as a top female singer. Her works such as "Joys and Sorrows of Life" and "Let Me Get Drunk, Don't Let My Heart Break" garnered widespread attention. In 1988, Ye Ai Ling held a large-scale solo concert at the Taipei's Chung Hwa Stadium, becoming the first female singer in Taiwan to do so. She has many popular songs, among which "Please Take It Away" once topped various charts. In June 1989, Ye Ai Ling's 17-day tour across Southeast Asia with nearly 50 solo shows set the highest box office record for Taiwanese artists in nearly five years. In November 1990, Ye Ai Ling was the only singer representing Taiwan to perform at the opening ceremony of the first World Women's Football Championship held in Guangzhou. On April 22, 2017, she also performed at the Resorts World Genting Arena of Stars with four other singing kings and queens. Ye Ai Ling remains active in the entertainment industry, occasionally performing, attending charity events, commercial shows, endorsements, and also taking on roles as a program host and actress.
Shen Wen Cheng, the dual "King of Golden Songs," has won both the Golden Melody Award and the Golden Bell Award. Since his debut in 1982, his first album "Who Knows the Heartache" shot to fame, selling in major night markets even before any media promotion or promotional activities. "Who Knows the Heartache" became the anthem of Taiwanese pop songs, selling over a million copies. In 1994, his self-produced and released songs like "Coming and Going to Taitung" and "Lingering Old Love" continued to create waves. In 1999, his song "Setting Off" won the "Best Dialect Male Singer Award" at the 10th Golden Melody Awards. In 2013, he won the "Travelling Program Host Award" at the 48th Golden Bell Awards for his outdoor program "Treasure Island's Fishing Is Big". From August 14th to 16th, 2011, Shen Wen Cheng and four other singers held the "Favorite Fujian Golden Songs Genting Concert" at the Resorts World Genting Arena of Stars for three consecutive days, and on October 8, 2016, he also performed with three other Taiwanese singers at the same venue, presenting a spectacular performance of the "Four Heavenly Kings of Taiwan". On April 23, 2020, Shen Wen Cheng performed a new song titled "Still Dreaming at 60", dedicated to himself at the age of 60, for the first time. On Labor Day, May 1, 2024, Shen Wen Cheng returned to Taipei's TICC for the grand "International Shen Wen Cheng Day, May First Beneath the Shadows" concert. Currently, Shen Wen Cheng remains active in the Taiwanese entertainment industry, not only as a singer but also frequently serving as a host and actor on variety shows.
