The Genting Malaysia Scholarship has opened up my world to endless possibilities. The financial relief has allowed me to pursue my field of interest without imposing any financial burden to my parents. Genting Malaysia’s facility-related subsidiaries and various engineering divisions have served as the ideal platform for me to enhance my profession and technical skills. I feel thankful for being able to gain a wide array of experience just from one company.

My colleagues are friendly and constantly motivate me to achieve greater heights in life. The highlight of my working career in Genting so far is being able to travel to Germany to discuss a project. An opportunity like this truly exceeded my expectations as it shows the company’s active effort to groom young engineers like myself. Upon joining the company for less than a year, I was fortunate enough to be one of the two scholars who were sent to Germany for a technical inspection and field trip. Despite the lack of experience, we were given such an incredible opportunity to play a key role within the team, showing Genting’s commitment to groom its employees and scholars.

My ambition is to become an Accountant. However, my family is not able to support my tertiary education due to health issues after I completed my STPM. To continue my education was a dream as I had to start working to earn an income to support my family. When I was informed that my application for Genting Malaysia Scholarship was granted, I was so delighted. I felt very grateful that not only I can continue my studies, but I can further pursue my ambition – to be an Accountant.

This scholarship would not only be a financial blessing, but also increase my overall confidence. Knowing I have support behind my academic provokes more than just appreciation, rather, it encourages me to strive to be the best I can be in all areas of my life. Life always throws curveballs but this award has become a reminder that I'm capable of overcoming challenges and achieving greatness. I’d graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Actuarial Science from University of Southampton and I am now working as a business analyst with Genting Malaysia.
